Hey everybody! Last week I got a call from CeLes, she asked me if I could help out with her other classes. So I went to my class and stayed for the two other ones. First of all in my class we are a backhandspring class, so we work mainly on those with a few other skills. We have competitions to see who can do the most in a row. We had to do standing ones and the first day I did 9 in a row! I have only ever done two in a row!!! I was AMAZED! And way dizzy, I had to hold on to the wall to keep from falling. haha! The SECOND day I did twelve in a row but I came to the end of the mat so I had to stop. hehe. Bet you can guess how dizzy I was then! then the third day we did roundoff backhandsprings, but I did these without a spot and I only got 7 but thats still good lol. I can also do skills such as brannies, front punches, back whips, backhandsprings, and I just learned back tucks. I can also do all the basic stuff too of course =). The other two classes were pretty fun, most of the time. I heard a lot of "I can do this by myself", and "dont help me this time!" haha but over all it was a good experience. I learned patience(hehe) and all that. :) I guess I did an ok job because she asked me if I could keep helping!!! Cheer is also going very good. We are trying all sorts of stunts and we've learned the fight song! We condition every day and it keeps getting harder but it feels good! Well now your all updated on the important stuff lol ! Hey All, I just wanted to post some pics of Josh doing what he loves to do, not to mention his sexy outfit! He calls this his work outfit. He wears it every time he cuts the grass, works on his car, or does anything around the house! Our neighbors love it and they get to see it every day cause this is all we do. UNIFORMS

I got all of my uniforms! They are not long sleeve uniforms we have a different under shirt for each one to match the uniform. There are three of them, the first one says Spartans with an M behind it, one says MHS, and the last one says Minico. I also have warm ups, just a jacket and pants!!! Each uniform has 4 parts too it! it takes a while to get on and off =). . . . splits...

Fathers Day 2008

You folks sure dont write on here very much now do ya?? You should more often so we all can know what you guys are up to... Anyway i just wanted to give ya'll an update on what im doin in the temple celebration. One person out of the youth reps from each stake was chosen to carry a flag in front of their stake and i was chosen for my stake and i carry a big pbc pipe that T's at the top and...it reminds me of flags that you see in midevil times with the snake tongue at the bottom lol. But i walk in front of everyone and then leave an go up on a platform that is 4 or 5 feet high and do a thing with the other flag carriers. And where im standing in the first part or the ending ceremony is right in front of where the prophet is going to sit!!!! im so excited!!! As for your update on me...my summer is going great... i mean no skool what's better??!?!? On saturday night Grandpa asked me to go glolfing with him for a fire department thing, it was so cool and then we went night golfing for the last 9 holes and that was so much fun but if there was a fire only like 3 guys would have been able to go fight it lol they were pretty drunk...oh except for grandpa and grandma lol but on hole 9 Steve Roberts came and picked one of our balls up and was being a dork but it was way fun so THANK YOU GRANDPA!!!!!!! i love you all and miss those of you who arent around...talk to you all soon!! luv ya, Meg

OUCH

Well we started cheer practice yesterday and we just played "get to know you games". Today we ran 2 laps around the track, did 5-10 of EACH jump BOTH sides, then we stunted, then we learned chants(cheers), then we CONDIDITONED OUCH OUCH OUCH! We did a pass of each of these which is from one side of the gym and back: lunges, frog leaps, inch worms(ask me). Then we did crunches for a minute and then we did stuff with our legs lifted(scissors biking and pitter patters) alternating with crunches. then we did supermans and planks. so if you cant tell im a little sore haha AND i have practice AGAIN tomorrow. Mon-Wed every week. Ooooooh i can already feel the burn of tomorrow haha talk to you l8r! Love Mikala

Our trip to NC

Well---we are home from Natalie and Josh's wedding! It was wonderful to finally meet Natalie. She is a sweetheart! Their wedding was beautiful (I am hoping they will post some pictures for us) and it was also great to meet Josh's friends from there. They are as lovable as Josh and his friends here are! Dad and I look forward to going back in July for Josh's graduation. Hopefully, that will all work out! I figured this time frame out----we were there for 30 hours and we traveled for 33 hours (counting car, plane and airport waiting time). When you travel on a plane there is no way to stretch out or put your feet up so we all came home with swollen ankles. Thankfully, it is not permanent! Today---I have ankles again!! Normal sized ones that is. Congratulations to Josh and Natalie!! Also, congratulations to Megan for her two church jobs! She is such a good example for her brother and sisters and also for all her cousins. WE LOVE YOU MEGAN! Tomorrow, May 28th, Derringer turns 3. Happy Birthday Derringer!!

I HAVE TWO CALLINGS NOW!!!!!!

Three days before my birthday i was called as the Young Womens President (they disinigrated the beehive miamaid and laurel presidencies and made one) was excited to start that!! Now, just like last Sunday i was called to be in the Youth Temple Committee. Two people are called to this position from each stake, one guy and one girl and im the girl form my stake. My first meeting is on June first in Kimberly!! Also some other things in my life right now im going to be a youth camp leader for girls camp this year. Im ssooo ready to graduate in nine days....IM JUST KIDDING!!!!! How about 2years and nine days lol. OOOOHHHH ya and i went out on another date it was great i went with Andrew Wheeler just in case any of u were wondering lol well thats the story of my life!! Luv all yall!! MEG, GUN, KLUTZ, PUNK and watever else i might be known as!!

Anybody who has called us since we have moved to our house knows that we have terrible cell phone coverage here. But, good news, Callin broke down and called the phone company. A tech will be out in a few days and our phone number is 438-8756! I will let you know when it is all together and working!

so my name is mikala lindsay and... just kidding. I'm selling carwash tickets with 100% profit to me ,and only me, for $58... just kidding, again, they're only $5 each the car wash will be on the 17 of may, at DL evans bank in front of walmart from 9-3 o clock. I only have 6 left so hurry and... ok just kidding AGAIN :). Go Trey!...

Trey ran in a kids 1 mile race and did really well. As all parents are of their kids, we were proud. We were even more proud when we found out that he placed third out of 50 kids and 141 out of 350 kids. He really enjoyed it.

I completed my first 1/2 marathon. It was a hard yet very beautiful run through the Santa Monica Mountains.

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I MADE THE MINICO SPARTAN CHEER SQUAD!!!!!!!!! IM SOOOOOO EXCITED! we tried out and i did my back handspring(YES! I FINALLY GOT IT!) and i wasnt really nervous but they told us that (there is a website that we went to to find out if we made it) the results would be up there BY 5 o clock...well about 45 AFTER five... the results came up! i was jumping off the walls! thank you all who prayed for me and supported me! i love you guys! love,Mikala Elsie(MINICO SPARTAN CHEERLEADER) Lindsay

We are on the move again...

    I am guessing that some might be wondering if we are still alive down here is sunny California.  We are, and all is well.  Our boys really enjoyed having Grandma and Grandpa here to visit, and so did we.  They were for sure after Grandma came she would want to move, but the weather was not on our side that weekend to help out with that.  They still talk about it and Tru always is asking "Where Grandpa"(He calls them both Grandpa).  Thanks so much for the visit we are so glad you came!

    After celebrating Grandma's birthday we celebrated Tru's later that week.  He is two now and full of life!  He is such a sweet boy.  He loves to give hugs and kisses.  His new thing to say is"You want some knuckles?" or " You want a punch".  As he says this of course he has his little fist out for the knuckles or both up in front of his face for a punch.  He is so much fun! 

    Trey is out for spring break next week. He is really funny now with his words.  Last Saturday he got one of those Chinese finger games that you put both your fingers in the end and they get stuck...well he did that as he was asking how do you play this, then realizing his fingers were stuck he says "oh crud"!  It was really funny!  Tys had to help him get them out.

    Trent is working on his spelling his name and getting ready for school.  He is really excited.  He is all tease! He love to play any trick he can.

    I have been busy trying to figure out how to manage three boys while I'm on crutches.  It has been quite the chore.  You would think after being on them for a month I would have mastered it, but no.  My boys have hated that I have to be on  them as they have had to help out a lot.  They have done really well!   But on the other hand they have really enjoyed them, the crutches have been anything from swords to machine guns to a slide.  I go in on Monday hopefully to be back to normal.  I hope to run in my 1/2 marathon, but we will see how fast I can progress. 

   Now for our excitement.  It is amazing how the Lord blesses our lives.  What we thought would work best for us, was not what we were to do.  Sometimes the harder way is the best way.  This week Tys got offered the trouble man position here in the Thousand Oaks and then also in Covina.  We always wanted to stay here and thought we would if he could get this position.   After a lot of prayer, we will be moving.  We are looking to live in the La Verne area.  We are really excited for another change.  Tyson's start date is May 12th.  We will move that weekend.  It will be a year from when we moved here.  We moved last Mothers day to. We will keep you posted on our move.

Megan's first date, Aaron Kloepfer, came to pick her up around 6:30 p.m. Saturday. We decided to torture the poor kid! Wes came up with these wonderful ideas to use his new camera he received for his birthday! Wes had many more ideas, but we talked him into 'downsizing' his torture session. Take notice of how short the little guy is!

Hey family! I don't know why more members aren't posting on this here blog! I absolutely love it when I have time to sit and read news from ya all! I can feel the sense of humor we all possess coming thru my monitor and I just have to sit and laugh!!! I can't believe Megan is 16!!! After all our teasing about not being able to date, what does she do but come up with a line about the famous guys taking her out on a date! Then tells us who her for real date is and I have to tell you all that she couldn't have a nicer young man taking her out for her very first date!! Even though I don't know him personally, I do know his fam. and they totally have my respect. So enjoy yourself, Megan!! You are a superstar in grandma's book and I am excited for you! Another thing I have noticed about Megan lately is how regal she is! Besides that she is full of grace (when she is sitting) and charm!! We all enjoyed our evening at the LIndsaay's to celebrate her birthday. Definitely good company. Now tomorrow is Zach's birthday--he is turning 9---and then on the 18th is Steph's and she is turning---let's see----I can't count that high!! Mandy and James are in a big transition and they are all dealing well with it except for maybe Maryssa. Poor girl is sooooo emotional, it is hard to help her, but we just keep encouraging her, (her dad even tries some bribing) and hopefully she will get thru all this change without life long scars attached. Mason just kind of goes with the flow and Morgan is happy as long he eats, sleeps and poops. We do wish the best for them with their business and getting their home sold. Grandpa and I are a bit short on energy lately but I think that has to do with the change in daylight savings time and as soon as we get used to it we will be back to our usual snappy selves! Here is my schedule for my weekend! Please do not call or bug me this Saturday!! First Matthew McConaughey is picking me up at 1:00 and we r going to Florida to go Fourwheeling. Then i have to be back by 5:00 to go to California with Orlando Bloom to go Jet skiing and surfing! Then im back at 7:00 to go with Brad Pitt to go sky diving and, Then at nine, Jose Jalapeno on a stiick is taking me snowboarding, and last but not least im going roller blading with Peanut. SIKE!!!!!! For all of u who dont know............while i was decorating my cake i got a call from a # that i did not have in my phone so i answered it and this guy was like hey happy birthday then he said so r u doing anything this Saturday??? i said nope ( i was flipping out i knew wat was coming an i was excited!!) he asked if i wanted to go on a date i said YA lol!! so he will call me later wiht wat time he is coming to pick me up after he talks to the people we r doubling with!

Hey All! Since sometimes the news around here travels slower than cold tar - and since I work at an office and sometimes we deal with some people - NYWAY, I found out this information the long, long, long way around - Scott and Melissa had their triplets. Yesterday, Sunday, when she got her Young Womanhood Recognition Award was such a neat experience. It was very nice. Wes and I are very proud of her! Congratulations Meg! Mikala gets her braces on Wednesday - for Meg's birthday. I am supposed to go to a meeting with Mikala tomorrow night at Minico to learn about trying out for cheerleader - yes, they want ME to try out. JK Ryan's working hard to bring his grades up, he's very excited to be a license-wielding, legal gun-toting nimrod! GO RY! (Careful not to put an eye out!) Madison is very excited to have Mason in her school class! She is very ready for spring to be here so she can be out riding her bike, although we need to pack it in to grandma's so she can ride somewhere safe. She rides out front here, but I worry! Megan's next golf tournament is on Wednesday, her birthday in Jerome. She's not too sure if she can make it yet or not, heh heh heh. We think she wants to hang around at school all day so all the guys will realize she is 16! Wes is itching to get out golfing also, so him and R.J. will head out tomorrow! They'll have fun, I'm sure! I'm still employed, although my boss is a blankety blank blank. I am still going to school - still waiting to be the honor roll - the news is kinda slow getting from Indiana, I guess. Hi to everyone! Thanks so much for all the birthday wishes! Grandpa and I had a great time in CA with Tyson, Carrie, Trey, Trent and Tru! The weather was warmer than here but I froze anyway because of the humidity! I am a wimp. It was a lot of fun and Carrie took excellent care of us. She is a wonderful cook! She made me a birthday cake and the boys made me cards and decorated the house with crepe paper and a Happy Birthday sign. We went to the beach and played in the sand, drove around Malibu to see some sights (we didn't see anyone famous, but then----I don't know if we would know it if we did see someone famous) went up a windy road where some of the fires were last summer, and went to the park to play. We went to church with them on Sun. We can see why they are enjoying CA so much! It really is beautiful where they live and their neighborhood is great! I didn't realize how much I missed the color green until I got home and was looking outside today and there is just mostly brown. Love to all of you! Grandma

Hey everybody. Congrats to Megan on the Young Womanhood Recognition. That is cool. It takes a lot of work to get that. Good job! And so close to your birthday! Things are starting to thaw out here in the boondocks. And as they thaw out we are dealing with a LOT of mud! And standing water. Darby loves to splash and play, but when she comes in the house, she is a popsicle! But a happy, muddy popsicle. Jakoby is gettting so big and is working on 2 new molars. She is very content and loves to chatter. My job is going okay, I am getting the hang of things and am able to do a lot more from home. Callin is getting ready to go out in the fields and get some spraying done. There is a bribe from the boss that if they spray 72,000 acres there will be a trip to Disneyland. But we will see! We are going to Disney on Ice in Salt Lake on the 15th of March. Darby is very excited. Just thought I would check in and say hi. Let everyone know that things are great in the boondocks! Later! Leap Year Rules

There is a leap year every year whose number is perfectly divisible by four - except for years which are both divisible by 100 and not divisible by 400. The second part of the rule effects century years. For example; the century years 1600 and 2000 are leap years, but the century years 1700, 1800, and 1900 are not. This means that three times out of every four hundred years there are eight years between leap years. 97 years out of every 400 are leap years. So that means that I will have a birthday in 2096 and then I won’t get another one for eight years in 2104. cool huh!!! Hey! I don't see any new blogs going on here!! I know it is cold outside, but where's the news? I think that Mandy and James are colder than we are here at 10 degrees and I know that Jeramy and Robyn got about 12 new inches of snow yesterday on top of their existing 10 or 12 inches. One other thing I know is Tyson and Carrie are a LOT warmer than any of the rest of us are! Grandpa and I just might have to go live where it's warm if this cold stuff keeps happening! A house of our own!

Hey just wanted to let everyone know what is up with our house. Our foundation walls will be poured on Tuesday this week, and the house will be here on the 26th. One week from tomorrow!! Things are coming together and it is very exciting to us! We even know how many yards of carpet and vinyl flooring we will need. Jakoby will be one on Saturday, and we will let everyone know about those plans. Talk to you all later!

PS This is the guys setting our power pole out at the house. They say that the wise man built his house upon the rock, and our house is definately on a rock. They had to bring out the rock drill to set both poles. This was just something fun for us!

Thanks, Carrie, for the cute pictures of the boys dressed up for Halloween! It was great to see them all dressed up to go trick or treating.I sent you an e-mail to tell you who the boys drew for Christmas but my e-mail said it wasn't delivered. Im having a bad weekend... first I forgot about cheer practice so I missed about and hour out of three hours and now i cant preform n the pep rally the dance that I worked so hard to master Then shauna wouldnt even look at me before, (thankfully Shanna took me!!!) Shanna talked to her. But I worked hard to learn and perfect the last two 8 counts of the dance and I still cant preform. I understand why, its just so frustrating that I forgot. Thank You soooooo much Shanna I dont know what I would have done without you!!!!! Oh my goodness I cant Belive how big your boys are getting Carrie and Tyson!! wow Well I love you all good night! Halloween has come and gone.  We celebrated by going to Trey's school party then trick or treating that night.  Trey was a vampire, Trent was a cowboy, and Tru was a puppy.  Tru caught on really quick and wanted in on all the treats that the were handing out.  They had a lot of fun.  We hope every one had a great Halloween.
