Catching up with Tyson and Carrie's Family

I thought that I would start by sending everyone a little of sun shine. I am assuming that you will take any you can get. We are actually cold today. I think that the highs are suppose to be around 60. So we are bundling up in our sweatshirts. Poor us!
Trey is growing up so fast. We just pulled him out of preschool because he was coming home telling us that he watched cartoons. They were not teaching him anything, so I guess it wasn't meeting our expectations. We have been working hard on his letters. He loved school and can not wait to go to kindergarten. He is such a peacemaker in our home. Every night before bed he ask me if we can clean the house tomorrow.
Trent makes us exhausted watching him. He is always up to something. What an active boy he is! His favorite thing is playing with his trucks. What an imagination he has. We are always on our toes and going strong every day with him around. But at night he crashes and sleeps so hard. It seemed that lately he had been getting sick a lot. He would throw up at night then be fine the next day. Now I said that he is a deep sleeper, he does not even wake when he has thrown up..so I go into to check on him and find that he has rolled all around in it. After the last time he did it I stayed awake thinking about why in the world he was throwing up about every other week.(seems that I was wide a wake from being thrown up on) I figured out the reason...Burger King. Tyson's favorite place to eat is making Trent sick. Every single time we go he throws up that night. It is either the soda or the hamburger. We have not been back since figuring that out.
Tru has changed the most. He is almost one and finally crawled today!! Yes I said crawlednot walked. Trey and Trent were both walking about this time so it was hard having not do anything. He also finally has two teeth! He is such a content baby and a mommy's boy. He is just starting to show his little personality. He is pretty funny. It is hard to believe that a year has gone by. It doesn't seem like he should be one he still has all his baby fat because he hasn't been moving at all until today.
I (Carrie) am enjoying staying home again. Our boys keep me busy. We stay busy with painting, playing puppies(thanks Maryssa and Mason),working on our letters, playing london bridges, coloring, board games, racing and anything else they can come up with. I have been working on not worrying about the house work and spending more time with my top priority our boys. I feel that I have left them behind for about a year when I was running the business. I loved doing the business but I lost focus of my mission in life. I don't know how you that work and are moms can do it. I remember not wanting to be "just a mom". But I have realized that there is no such thing of " I AM JUST A MOM". It has been a great change for me. So I find myself every day playing with our boys. We live right by a park so we try to go every day unless it is cold. I have been called to the Enrichment Board but have not done one thing with it yet.
We got some good news about a couple of weeks a go. Let me catch you up on the situation first. I am not sure how many of you know this but in May of 2005 we took a family trip to the zoo in Utah. After the zoo, are trip went down hill when we came out of the zoo with the Car surrounded my cops. To make the story short Tys was cited with a misdemeanor class B for animal cruelty for leaving our wonderful, spoiled dog in the car. It ended up being a bigger thing than we thought. It was possible jail time up to a year. We hired an attorney he fought it and we had to pay way to much money for this innocent thing. Anyways we thought it was done there but it came back to bite us when Tys applied for a job with Southern California Edison in September. They would not even look at his application because he had a misdemeanor. So in September we started the expungement process. After a lot of paper work, waiting time, mailing back and forth to Utah, and more money we got word last Friday that it was done! So now we are onto the process of contacting the Edison lady to see if he can get on with them. More of the waiting...patients is a virtue right? Some thing that I need to learn more and more of.
Tys has been busy with work. The commute isn't to bad most of the time, except when, out of the blue it snows here and Californians flip out, or when there is construction, OK his commute is about an hour. On his time off he has been reading and playing with our boys. He has been going on long bike rides with Trey and Trent around the neighborhood. Which they all have enjoyed.
We are all doing really good here. We love it here in California! We are ready for a change again so we are getting a little antsy. We are sick of having all of our stuff packed away. But if that is the worst I would say that we are doing wonderful!

The Wes and Steph Newsletter

Mikala turned 13 in January this year. This makes 2 teenage girls living in our household now. A whole lot of estrogen, tears and attitude in our household! Mikala is doing really well in school this year. She has really good grades, 1 B+, all the rest A’s! She is the Beehive President. She is in a class called GT, which stands for Gifted and Talented, although from the sound of the name – it sounds like they all might be a little bit "special". She is full of spunk and fun as usual, and most of the time - a joy. ALERT! ALERT! ALERT! Megan Lindsay is out on the roads! Beware! Run for your lives. She is getting her driving hours so she can get her permit in May. There have been a few times she has made her dad and me very nervous, and on a couple of occasions, unbeknownst to Megan, her dad has come home and had to change his pants. Ha, ha, ha! She will soon be 15. Megan is doing well in school as well and has Honors classes. She is having fun getting to know new friends and developing relationships. She is taller than her mother, but still lacks the coordination of walking and chewing gum at the same time. At least once a day she comes home and tells us how she fell up the stairs, or tripped, or some such thing. Sometimes with tears, sometimes with an "Oh well, I’m used to it." She pops up so fast after falling, if a person didn’t know any better they wouldn’t know she had fallen down at all, or this is what she hopes. Megan is the Mia Maid President. Ryan has his braces off for the time being, he is kind of at an in-between stage – wearing a retainer, but it has been broken for about a week now and already his front teeth are getting a gap. Ryan never ceases to amaze us – this week he came with a band-aid covering his nose. He said he was trying to get his face to change colors because his friend does it by flexing every muscle in his body and holding his breath. Well, he did it. He started walking again, passed out and his face hit the cement wall. I informed Ryan that he is not a chameleon. He is very embarrassed about this, I hope he has learned that just because someone else is doing it – doesn’t mean we should. Ryan is a very considerate boy and will be 12 in approximately 8 months. He will go to the middle school next year, and Mikala will still be there, but in the 8th grade. Madison has gone through quite a growth spurt. She is 7 years old and her build reminds me of Megan – the long skinny, gangly legs. She loves school and has let us in on a little secret that her teacher told her – their class is going to be the smartest 1st grade ever! In her spare time, Maddy loves to read and draw and color. If we kept everything she made, we’d have to buy another home just to keep her art stuff in. She is so snuggly, it’s kind of hard but our baby is growing up – that’s not to say she isn’t spoiled rotten! I (Stephanie) have gone back to school – a crash course in an update of computers. It is Job Education Training. I love it! I am also trying to get a job, had some interviews and am still waiting to hear back. I plan on signing up for Quick Books the first part of March. It is once a week for 2 hours for 4 weeks. I think I can handle that! Then that will help me be more employable. Wes is just Wes. He is still an instrument man at the Sugar Factory, he was actually supposed to go back and finish his 3rd year of electrical apprentice school, this semester, so now he won’t be able to – he’ll have to take his whole 3rd year over. There I told on him. Now everyone can scold him. He has told me that most of the time he enjoys his job. I am glad; it is nice when someone is happy in their work. He is a good, hard worker. When he is not at work, usually he is fixing something in our "Money Pit". One of his latest projects is putting in new windows in our bedroom, and Madison’s. Out of 4 windows, so far only 1 has been put in. It was harder than he expected. Hopefully the next one will be easier, and so on. The Wes Lindsay Clan Is always busy - there is never a dull moment. Always plenty going on. Sometimes too much. There is always homework, mutual, scouts, school activities, outside and inside projects, meetings, sports – hockey and baseball, basketball and volleyball. Different strokes for different folks. But, bottom line is we’re all doing really well!
